My assemblages are tableaux, emerging from my subconscious rather than from any preconceived ideas. I begin my process by laying out hundreds of pieces of found objects to create a huge ‘palette of choices’. From this ‘palette’ I serendipitously choose the first piece to become the axis of the work. Then I begin juxtaposing other pieces until I find those that (to me) have affinity and synergistic associations. I see these as miniature worlds; as still frames from an unknown movie; as an invitation to others to enter these small realms and participate in the creation of their own dream narrative.
